Tunnels Beach is only a mile down the beach from Hale Makai, but it was a week or so before we made it down there. And then it was more to check out the snorkeling than anything else. Have to say I liked it better there than off the beach at Hale Makai. But, unless you want to pay $10 to park in a nearby field, parking is almost impossible, which made Hale Makai's beach just fine. Hard to beat the scenery around Tunnels though. Our neighbor at Hale Makai described it as the most beautiful place she's seen on the planet.
