Before I read the caption, I guessed he'd caught what looked like a tar-coated shoe in the waters. In this day and age, all bets are off. Glad to read it was his, and not the day's catch.

Terrific shot. The price we pay for the perfect shot;-)

That would have been me as a kid too- chasing after frogs, falling face first into duck ponds trying to sneak up on a duckling. I was a girlie girl but when the opportunity presented itself to capture an elusive creature- i didn't mind getting dirty.
I like his expression- a bit of pride and a bit of exasperation.

He's beautiful, mud and all. :) Love the light on his face. Good job getting the shoe back! It looks like tar. eeeuuuwww lol

Yap, you have to watch for those shoe sucken mud monsters. Nice capture.

I just hate when that happens! Boy, that is some thick, nasty mud! Bet Mom was none too happy about it, either ;-)

Nice shot, Steve.

LOL! Glad to see young Stephen has got his priorities right - the quest for the perfect frog shot, of course! :-)

Nice one Steve, I see the young Mc is dipping his toe in the game.
Hope you get your royalties from brome.

Ewww...that's happened to me more times than I can tell. I love playing in the muck to get somewhere interesting.
Guest 06-Aug-2005 08:26
gosh this is a whole family affair...photography. well done.

as for the pic...i guess he won't be getting too close to the frog in the future. maybe he needs a longer macro lens. oops, was i allowed to say that. :)

Not entirely unfamiliar situation fot me either. I've got my shoes wet when shooting my Water Lilies shot for my last month's PaD.
