Indy Starts A New Adventure.jpg

Indiana Jones is about to embark on his greatest adventure. With the discovery of an old contract and the key to a secret code on an ancient continental four dollar bill; the war is in the balance. Indy is on a race with Hitler's agents to find a secret, and long forgotten, document that could shake a nation and split the allies apart forever.

Ok, really I just picked up an old commercial model 1917 Smith and Wesson similar to what Indiana used in "Raiders Of the Lost Ark". It is a nice old pistol chambered in one of my favorite calibers .45 Colt. With its unusual 6.4" barrel length I ... couldn't resist

I agree with Graham.....a wonderful photo. The textures...the lighting....and it is soooooo sharp. Quite a still life, Bill. The leather is a really nice texture to lay the gun on...they compliment each other.

I didn't STEAL it! (honest mommy, I didn't!). .. I traded it! It looked to Me like grandpa was using it as a book mark, so I put a "joker" from a set of playing cards in it's place and took it home with Me! When the phone didn't ring with grandpa on the other end looking for his 4 dollar bill, Idecided it was MINE. (grin) Such was the logic of an 8 year old Wanda. And Bill is right, I have always treasured that old piece of paper, even if it is worthless to others.

Ah, the documents, the letter seems to be a notice of satisfaction of judgment in some sort of law suit to the sheriff Joseph Arnold, Hancock County , The common Wealth of Massachusetts dated 2, Feb, 1807. It seems to involve some sort of land dispute. The settlement was $176.73 and a little over 2 acres of land.

The small piece of paper is a $4 Continental note number 1509 printed by Hall &Sellers Philadelphia 1776 redeemable in silver or gold according to a resolution of Congress 17 Feb, 1775. It is signed by Benjamin ?? (boy I wish I could make out the last name).

This little bill does have an interesting history of a sort. Wanda stoled it out of her Grandfathers Bible when she was a little girl and has had it ever since. To her it is worth much more than a Continental.

Beautiful shot Bill. Nice layout and props, but more interesting to me is the document's in the background, what are they? It looks like the year 1806 &1807? I don't ask because the gun is a different era, but because I'm fascinated with old documents like this. My Mom has a stack of military promotion document's for my great, great? grandfather from the 1800's that go from when he was a volunteer up until he was a General. They're so much fun to look through, the writing is so intricate and detailed compared to how people write now. Really neat stuff.

Bill, not only is your photo work impressive, the scripts/story lines you come up with are great also. S&W, great guns, the factory is just a few miles from me.
