New Do 07_24_05.jpg

I've done gone respectable. After years with long hair and a ponytail I got myself a makeover. Well really it was just a hair cut. The reason?...after years of being a bit of a bum...I have got myself a part time job. I start at Cabela's, a large sporting goods store, working very part time in the gun library selling fine sporting firearms and accessories http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/community/gun/gun-home.jsp;jsessionid=LWQ2RHPWUVIZMCWQNVDSCNIK0BWUKIWE?hierarchyId=10468&rid=4000113070805&cm_re=home0708*right*gun_library

Tonight Wanda gets the credit for the photo.

Respectability is over-rated -- but I do like the new doo. Wish I had the option of cutting mine short. :)

Bill, er, Wanda, that's a pretty good shot but why did the hair have to go??? They hired you with the long hair right? Oh well, you can grow it back I guess... And if you don't mind me asking how have you made money for all these years being a bum?

Keep up the good work! Your shots are all fantastic.

Jon.

I've heard good things about Cabella's. Sounds like a good job for someone who really appreciates the outdoors. Your landscape photorgaphy shows how you fit in that type of lifestyle.
You will be lucky if you can keep it to part-time.
Good luck.

Now you look like a mensch ;)

I could not wait for the "real" Sharps either so got one from Cabelas. Great place to shop with great return policy.

Re: Locks, I was just telling a young auditor today about my days as a San Francisco street photographer, with the long hair, beard and beads. Now I am down to a crew cut. You look ok both ways.

Re: Bum, I still have 11 months to work to the end of my contract and then I can be a bum too.

very smart... I hope cutting off your locks won't have any effect on your strength!

Congrats on the new job and the new look. Now that I know you are into guns I will leave Wanda alone....lol! Keep up the great shots. Of course I am hoping that like Samson you will not loose your "photo" strength. Then again your better half has a great eye for it herself. Wishing you the best and many years of PAD sucess!

Awwwwwwww, no wonder I fell for you, you say the sweetest things!

I hope you are enjoying your first day at work. I'll be waiting for you with open arms when you get home. (s)

Bill,
Great photo of you. I think this should be the theme photo for
" A New Beginning...PAD Year Two" . And congrats on the
new job.

Babe...somethings are just well worth waiting for. It was that kind of patience and persistent that kept me dating you. I knew you were well worth the wait. So was the custom Shiloh Sharps...like you, it is work of art and was worth the wait.

John! Now I know who to contact for that "widow's sale" should the time ever arise. (looking at Bill's collection of guns) I don't know one from the other, I just know that any man who would put his name on a waiting list for damned near 5 years, just for a damned custom built buffalo gun needs his head examined. The camera obsession I can understand, but the guns? ( perturbed-wife look on face)

Great place for you. I bought a Itilian 73 and Sharps from them a few years ago. Use both for Cowboy Action Shooting. I could enjoy that part time job.

Hope you have fun.

Who's a pretty boy then?

Bill you will have a blast . I worked a sporting goods store in the gun dept , it was a blast . Believe me when I say you will hear 1,000's of war stories,Stories that hollywood could not come up with . Anyway your new look is great.
Wm. Bates26-Jul-2005 05:09
Robin, the new job is just for fun (the pay won't cover my upcoming lens budget). If it cuts into my fun and photography to much...I'm going back to being a bum.
Robin Reid26-Jul-2005 05:05
Bill, you aren't a bad lookin' fella. Not a bad match for Wanda! Nice shot W.
Good luck w/the new job, but I hope it doesn't cut too far into your excellent photography!
