Almost Out of Inspiration 06_29_05.jpg

I came so close to not taking a picture today. I just couldn't come up with an idea. I had no inspiration.

I went to the pantry and poured the last of an excellent dram that I had purchased last fall. I patiently waited for every last drop and then it hit me...the bottle was my inspiration! I carefully placed the now empty bottle and my final glass of Caol Ila on the table and grabbed the tripod and camera. I looked and appreciated the pale amber liquid, the sparkle of the crystal. I could smell the peat smoke that many years ago had dried the malt. I savored the moment, the light and snapped my pictures. I made it through another day.

I have finished that last glass and now I've posted my photo. I have no idea what I will do tomorrow.

LOL Bill. Gosh, maybe we'll see more shots like this. Pure inspiration.

Ian, I have had the Te Bheag,it is an excellent blended whisky. I've never seen Poit Dhubh in the US in my travels.

Nice! If you fancy a different tipple I can thoroughly recommend both 'Potch Ghoo' and 'Chey Vek' from the Isle of Skye.

Never heard of this one, but it looks damn good.

Wanda, on the 6-26 pic you will notice I already voiced my opinion on counting that shot.

You're a man with fine taste. Begin your search for another bottle.

You are all wrong! It's been less than a week since I last posed for a picture. Go back and look on 6-26-05. It's not MY fault the image with ME in it is not the "picture of the day" image, but it did get an honory mention in the thumbnail below the "Alpine Shooting Star" image. Of course you need a magnifying glass to see Me, but I am still there! So it counts! (grinning from ear to ear)

Hey John, good to see you're still around.

It has been 10 days since a Wanda photo. Today or tomorrow we'll be doing another one. We haven't decide it what it will be but sometime during the day I'm sure an idea will form up.

Buy another bottle, it sounds inspiring stuff!

A very evokative and timeless image Bill, I can almost smell the peat.
Much as I like John's idea, perhaps you could document the search for another bottle?

No idea for tomorrow’s PAD? Hmmmm. A nice image of Wanda would be just fine I would think. After all, it’s been what, … about two weeks? (Not that I’m counting of course! LOL!)

great shot. .i'm sure you'll come out with something tomorrow! keep at it!.. i love the detailed captured on the bottle's label and the dust on the table =) the crystallized look of the glass is awesome

Very nice...not too shabby for a last ditch effort! ;-) Great composition and very nice lighting...love the 'warmth' of this image. This image could serve well for an advert.
