Wanda07_10_04b.jpg

It was a warm, sunny, lazy Summer afternoon here and Wanda spent some of it sitting in the shade sipping wine. I thought it would make a nice photo; so, I snapped a few.

OH...and to the person that felt it was OK to link my image to another web page and now has a broken link...watchout, it could be very expensive to steal one of my copyrighted and registered images.

Canon EOS 10D ,Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM

Nice even exposure, but the fill flash was perhaps a bit too bright for my taste (Wanda's back is very illuminated considering the shadows on the grass and there's a distracting flash reflection on the bird-feeder stand). Another idea for this shot would be to add fill flash in post processing. This way you would have no highlights to worry about, and the effect could be adjusted to precisely match the overall contrast of the image.

I think Bill captured the feel of a nice summer evening as enjoyed from our backyard. I am looking foward to the time when I can relax outside in the fresh air once more.

Excellent, as usual, Bill. The exposure is just right. It looks as though you can walk right into the photo and tap her on the shoulder!

I totally understand how you feel about the photo stealing. I wish there was a way to track links from here. I've had a lot of my pics hotlinked...

Great job balancing the fill flash to the natural light.
Looks like a great place to watch the clouds coast by. =)

Paul, no major work to get the cloud detail. I used a circular polarizer filter and some fill flash on the foreground to balance the exposure.

Excellent DOF, I love the colors.

Very nice! The lighting and colors are surreal. I suspect you had to do some work with it to get detail in the clouds, as well as the shadows in the foreground. Very nicely done!
