Wanda06_20_04.jpg

Wanda spent the day doing what she loves best; hiking in Utah's mountains. She spent the morning hiking with our nephew Wes. On this hike they saw a mother ruffed grouse and her babies; but, the highlight for the day was a fawn mule deer. It is only a few days old. This is a picture Wes got of the fawn http://www.pbase.com/image/30375178

Later this evening it was back to the mountains to hike and watch wildlife. I was trying to get a clear photo of a big doe mule deer when I looked back across the meadow and saw Wanda and Brandy watching the deer. I swung the camera around and got a few candids of them watching the wildlife.

This image brings back memories of what I think is a perfect day! There is nothing better than spending most of the days exploring mountain trails in search of wildlife. The weather was perfect and this day was one of My best days for spotting wildlife!

I always have to chuckle at the comments like the one Lisa made below. I don't know that I have a "normal" look. I am a very complex woman and it's not unusual to see Me with My hair all curled pretty, My nails painted and My make up on, standing in the middle of a stream, water up to My knees with a fishing pole in My hand. I believe I am a walking poster child for that old saying "you can't judge a book by it's cover".

Max, at that time of day a tripod was mandatory

Huh? 400mm, no IS, 1/20sec? is this shot handheld??

If so, I like it even better!
