Bill Timber 03_15_09.jpg

For today a photo from our favorite guest photographer, Wanda.

We took Timber a few miles across the valley to some BLM land where he could go for a good run. The spot where I'm standing seems to be popular with the local shooters. Okay, people I'm a shooter and a hunter. I always pick up every shell. Those plastic shells will still be around 100 years from now. People, we shooters have enough problems with our public perception. There is no sense being pigs, littering and leaving our shells everywhere. PICK IT UP!

If seven days without Wanda makes one weak, what does over a month do? :-(

I think this is the longest I've gone without seeing a new picture of Wanda since I first stumbled onto your original Wanda PAD!

Great picture Wanda.

Now THAT is a disturbing thought Jon, and I'm going to go right back to the last picture in this gallery and stare at Wanda for awhile to wash that thought right out of my mind lol.

Bill keeping his shirt on? You need to look through the galleries a bit more. Not only is Bill shirtless, he's in the nude!

Quite a contrast from the scenery in Mexico. (Come to think of it, quite a contrast from the two topless girls walking on the beach there as well, so thanks for keeping your shirt on Bill :-) )

I have been a firearms enthusiast since the time I was seven years old and my father taught me to shoot along the wind-blown sandy beaches off of Vandenberg AFB in California where we lived at the time. I still remember the recoil of the 22 automatic pistol, (shaped just like a full sized 1911 Colt 45), as I pulled the trigger for the first time of my life. When we finished shooting for the day, my Dad said “Look at the ground John. Stuff doesn’t fall up into the sky … it falls down to the ground. Pick everything up.” To this day … almost 50 years later … when I go target shooting I always look down and pick up the brass. Not once in my life has anyone ever teased me for doing so, and more often than not, the folks around me bend down and pick up their brass as well. It’s called “being responsible”.

Nice shot of you two,and an even better point.I'm not a shooter but I do find plastic shells all the time.By me, a problem seems to be plastic 6-pack holders washing up on the beach.Pisses me off to no end.-Dave

Bill, I agree with you on this issue. Leave no shells, casings on the ground. To do so is just lazy and rude. I see it at the gun club also, even though there are garbage cans at each station there are always tons of empties on the ground. If you are too lazy to bend over and pick them up get a double and catch them when you crack the gun open.

Bill, you are so right. Just as your brass is also an eyesore. Pick it up folks. We are conservationists first and foremost.
