...These are photos of an incomplete set of 92mm MAHLE pistons and cylinders I purchased on eBay (Oct2005). One cylinder had a broken cooling-fin which we restored to "as-good-as-new". To my surprise, no less than 3 cylinders were damaged at the bottom of the cylinder which the seller failed to disclose during the eBay auction. I discovered the damage upon inspection of the package received. Oh well, sometimes you're pleasently surprised while other times you're not. That's eBay for you!

As you can see by some of these photos, the missing sections at the bottom of the cylinder bores were nicely welded and will soon be going to Ollie's for the machining operation. These cylinders will later undergo the re-nikasil process to make them like-new again.
