Historical & Other Photos

Contribute! This photo gallery will document vintage and current photos of 911 RSR race cars at various events and locations. If you have any period photos you'll be willing to share with the rest of us, please email them to ajserrano@msn.com. By the way, I have already received a lot of period photos from several great sources, particularly from Germany. Thank you guys! Again, I want to express my gratitude for the many collective contributions from all of you, the 911 RSR fans! Please keep them coming! Let's keep those memories alive! ; )

If by chance you're considering to sell any of your factory "original" 911 RSR parts, please contact me via email at ajserrano@msn.com or, by telephone at (562) 227-0997 (I much rather complete my 911 RSR project without having to resort to reproductions). For now, please enjoy these photos and again, thank you!

I really had to post this...

“Thank god there’s no 48-hour race anywhere in the world, because chances are nobody could beat Porsche in a 48-hour race. They’re probably the only cars in the world that would stand-up for something like that.”

Carroll Shelby, quoted in Porsche advertising brochure, 1972.

“By the way, Carrol Shelby was wrong, there was a 84-hour race, The Marathon de la Route at the Nurburgring - and Porsche did win it! (Vic Elford in my old 911R prototype).”

Edmond Harris, quoted December 2006
