Again, I'm very flattered to hear these galleries continue to be a source of reference and inspiration for people like you around the world. Your project looks very nice indeed and I'm certain you will have a lot of fun and excitement driving it, specially knowing that 'you will not be holding anything back!'. ; )
Yes, it will not be a good idea to use those very rare and expensive RSR parts for your intent and purpose and that's always a hard decision to make, I understand.
Thanks again Callum and please update us with additional event/track photos.
All the best!

Dear Armando,
Attached are pics of my finished race/rally Group 4 911. Your site has been a great help and a source of inspiration during the more difficult periods of the build!
As you will see it looks very much like a 3.0RSR. However it has been built to the Carrera RS Homologation papers from 1973-75 to comply with current European FIA Regulations for historic racing and rallying. We have most of the permitted modifications in place, eg short rear arms, coilovers, twin plug ignition but have avoided using expensive original RSR parts on the basis that this is not a show car, but used only in (serious) competition and is likely to get damaged from time to time.
It is pictured on relatively narrow wheels/tyres but I am about to try 9 front and 12 rears with wider tyres (Michelin TBs) Also on some events we have run megaphones in place of silencers.
Safety equipment is obviously not period. For example the fuel tank and oil cooler are where they are only to protect them from a front impact.
So far it has competed on Tour Brittania 2007 (10th overall), Classico Rally Mallorca 2008(4th Overall) Historic Rally Sanremo 2008 (Retired from 10th overall with broken CV joint)
The next outing is Tour Britannia again which involves a mixture of races and special stages in England for 3 days in September. A load of testing is planned though as it is still nowhere near its potential. We then plan to head for Southern Europe again for Targa Floria and Costa Brava.
I would greatly appreciate if you could feature these pics. I believe it may be one of the few 911s built to these regulations to appear on the site.
I have a few more detailed pics of suspension/brakes and engine as well as some action shots. Please let me know if you want these for the site too?
