Sorry to break the news to anyone involved with this car. But what makes you think Vittorio Coggolio ran this chassis at 1974 Targa Florio ?

Just because he owned it ? (or because someone told you so ?) Even if the 'list' that circulates , is correct as to him being the first purchaser of this 1974 RSR chassis number. Coggolio did not pilot chassis 460 9086 at the 1974 Targa Florio (unless he backdated the body prior) . He piloted an earlier year car. In fact , from looking at photos of all the Porsche finishers, and of the retired cars. And from lists showing the entry classes of the all the entries . It seems that not only did this chassis not run there . It looks like NO 1974 MY RSR chassis's were entered there. Earlier model year porsches only.

This particular chassis (460 9086) :

1974 Giro d'Italia - maybe .....although the photo above is not from 1974 Giro D'Italia anyway . Monticone - Coggiola were no. 451 at 1974 Giro d'Italia . That photo is from 1976 Giro d'Italia where Pilone - Coggiola ('Victor') were entry No. 584 (DNF)

1974 Targa Florio - no.

However , the same crew of Coggiola ('Victor') - Pilone were 2nd overall at the 1975 Giro d'Italia where they were entry No. 495. It would seem logical that this was , most likely , chassis 460 9086.

So, I have to ask. What’s up with the Green paint on the interior, Silver Body and Black inside of the wheel arches? It would appear that the car was originally Green, re-sprayed Silver and the inner fenders painted black?
