1973 Porsche 911 RSR 2.8 L - Chassis 911.360.1008

You're looking at the most original and prestine 1973 Porsche 911 RSR, probably, in the world. According to the June 2001 Panorame article of this RSR, it is one of two brought into the country by Volkswagen of America in 1973. The RSR was later sold to Alan Johnson, a Porsche dealer in San Diego. This RSR is now own by John Skoien of the Sacramento area.

Does anyone have any good detailed photos of this particular RSR that they wouldn't mind sharing with the rest of us? Thank you!

So, is this John Skioen related to the Chris Skioen (or maybe the same person) , that a gentleman says stole 360 0018 from him on your webpage for that car. What is the story there ?

Hello Mr. Chuck Miller and thank you for your post! As always, it takes hundreds of hours and a whole lot of patience and effort to get all the facts straight when taking on something like this. Oh well…. : ( Can you request better resolution photos of #1008? I will love to be able to update the ones on the site as they are not very good. Note that I also gave credit to your friend Chris Florin but I don’t have his dad’s name. If you give it to me, I’ll update the credits to reflect that. It seems the article in PANO states the this RSR # 1008 is in fact the same car that's in the August '73 R&T article ... that is stated here to be # 0853... As far as I know the pictures taken at the '73 LA Auto Show, the article in R&T, the article in PANO, and the car at the RGruppe 2006 event, are all of the same car - RSR # 1008 If you have any other info to the contrary pleas let me know... BTW - The black and white '73 LA Auto Show pictures that were on the Early S Registry message board were taken by my friend Chris Florin and his dad...
