Tubac is about 45min due south of downtown Tucson, and we happened to be there around dinner time. By chance we stopped into a restaruant called the Italian Peasant and lo and behold, they had a Reuben on the menu, and that is what I ordered and photographed- luckily I had my Canon P/S which does better than my Galaxy S3. It looked good when they brought it out and set it in front of me. I had the fries as the side and it wa served a dill pickle slice, which was really not that good as far a pickles go. The fries were on the soggy side, but edible. There was a generous amount of tender corned beef, but it was dry. The sauce did not bring anything out and was kind just there. There was a decent amount of cheese, but it did not really speak any flavor to my palate. The bread did not detract, but did not have even the slightest amount a light toasting to it. Lastly, one of the sandwiches had a big , un-shredded piece of sauerkraut on it which detracted from the overall experience for me. I give this $13.99 sandwich maybe a D+ and would not recommend it.
