Stacy (pictured) and I came upon this Gopher Snake sunning itself on the warm asphalt of a rural Montana highway. Moments after stopping and snatching it up off the road, a truck passed over the spot where it had been moments before. After posing for pictures, the snake was released, and was last seen slithering into the underbrush - in the direction away from the highway.
