I just found out about this site and will hope to go to the next reunion if possible. My name is Ron Simon and I lived in the projects from 1947 to 1960 at 90 amsterdam Ave apt #9A. We were the first family to live in that apartment. My fathers name is Louis and my brother Kenny and me Ronnie Simon. If you remembered me please feel free to contact me.

Alta, I don't know, but I doubt that Erik confirmed coming. I will check with the committee. Over 2 years ago we had some interest in his past with the projects. Erik wrote his biography and stated that he was raised in Spanish Harlem, not in Amsterdam. Despite that comment we know that he funded the rebuiding of the Statons of the cross statuettes at St. Paul's church. We also had pictures on Skelzie of him in St. Paul's elementary school and of course many remember him and his mother in the projects. Those pictures are gone, don'e understand how that happened and I can't find the originals. Must be my fault or a site computer error.
