Julio, as always, it was a pleasure to see you. it was also a pleasure to meet your daughter and to see you in your element...behind the camera! I thank you in behalf of all for keeping it going because it is one of the tools that keeps us abreast of the changes that occur between the gatherings, that we so much look forward to!

HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY AMSTERDAM HOUSES, THE 13 BUILDING PUBLIC HOUSING COMPLEX ON AMSTERDAM AVE. BEHIND LINCOLN CENTER. ONCE THE HOME TO JAZZ MUSICIAN THELONIUS MONK AND ACTOR TIM REID, THE PUBLIC HOUSING COMPLEX HAS LAUNCHED MANY A SUCCESSFUL CAREER. CITY COUNCILWOMAN GAIL BREWER KICKED OFF THE BIRTHDAY BASH WITH A SPEECH BEFORE MAKING WAY FOR THE RESIDENT MUSICIANS, INCLUDING A 10 YEAR OLD DRUM PRODIGY. THE BUILDINGS WERE RECENTLY PUT UP FOR LANDMARK PROTECTION, A RARE HONOR FOR A PUBLIC HOUSING COMPLEX. ERIK ESTRADA MOTORCYCLE-RIDING STAR OF THE '70s TELEVISION SHOW "CHIPS", ALSO GREW UP THERE. NOW THAT'S COOL.

THE SPACE IN THE PAPER MAY HAVE BEEN LIMTED BUT IT COULD HAVE INCLUDED AT LEAST SOME OF THE OTHER ARTISTS WHO RESIDED THERE. I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO MADE THIS HAPPEN, IT WAS WONDERFUL.
