I just read on one of these comment boards that David Small is looking to find out what happened to Sylvia Ruiz. I wish I knew. But that's so funny. David was a cool customer - assume he still is. Sometimes he and sister Charlotte would go to St. Pauls on Sunday, sometimes they'd go to Trinity Presbyterian on 57th and 9th. That's where I went. And so did Sylvia Ruiz. And the reason David wants to know what happened to Sylvia is because she was stunningly beautiful - a piece of art. She was all I could think about in Sunday school class, to hell with Noah's ark. Liz Torres also went to our church (and so did Nyra Valle). And Daphne Maxwell used to visit my neighbor Valerie Tennent (whose brother Wayne is here somewhere). Once Daphne held the elevator door open too long on the fifth floor at 228 w 62nd. My father gave her a scolding when he got up the steps to our apt at 5C. I see Anthony Rivera (Tony - brother of Bernardo, Freddy, Nelson and Ruben) checked in. He looks good. And Tony - if your mom is still there, God bless her. He lived across the way in 229, same building as Henry 'Papo'but pronounced something like Bapo (Eric) Estrada - his sister Ata and mom, James Garay, older brother Michael, and Jerome/Romey/Jere Threadgill (and brother Wally/Wiley). Oh, and Harold Thomas too -who used to shout out insults from the hallway window. And the Ponce brothers too - Leo, Raymond and Junior. Ronnie Grant lived in my building with brother Cary (Carey?). Anyway, it was good to see David's photos here - and that of Charlotte. David may not remember me, I mostly flew under the radar. Good ball player he was. Also saw David at a big bar brawl on 9th ave one time. In the middle of it he put in one shot on some guy and then went back to his seat. Mission accomplished.
