I am also from the Amsterdam Houses. The actress' name is Daphane Maxwell. My sister, Awilda and I (Millie Almodovar) lived at 216 W 62nd. Please let me know when there is another reunion. Nyra and Noberto were my childhood friends. I can be reached at miraclesny@aol.com.

I remember both Nyra and Norberto. I'm Barry Flanagan - along with my sister Kathy and parents Katherine and George, we lived at 228 w 62nd in 'the projects.' Kathy was a good friend of Nyra. I also see Ronnie Grant in another photo - he lived with brother Harold in my building. I also recognize Mrs. Mayfield - she looks the same - wow!
did you guys know that Eric Estrada (of tv show CHIPS fame) grew up at 229 w 62nd. And so did actress/comedienne Liz Torres - she too has a long tv/move bio, and I think even now shows up on the series, 'Ugly Betty.' Also living in 229 was Jere Threadgill (and family)- he was 'Romey' (Jerome) to me as a kid. He became a photographer, and is noted for his pre-famous nude photos of Madonna (which you can find online - I should add). And finally, I can't for the life of me come up with the name of an beautiful young woman who became an actress and did a tv sit-com many years ago. If any one can remember her name... All I can say is she's African-American and was a good friend of Valerie Tenent, who lived on my floor at 228. Anyway. I enjoyed this. Write something back, hear! Barry Flanagan
