A few years ago I got a postcard from a friend who was camping his way down the Oregon coast. Although that friend and I have since parted ways, the dramatic image of that stretch of coastline stuck in my mind, and in October of 2003 I went down there to see it (as well as the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area) for myself. I was worried about what the weather would be like in the mid-fall. But aside from a few days of rain in Hood River and Cannon Beach, it was surprisingly clear and warm. And being well outside of the busy months of summer, it was wonderfully uncrowded.

The pictures here were taken on both slide and print film (predominantly Sensia and Reala, respectively). I finally upgraded to a Nikon Coolscan IV film scanner, and am quite thrilled with the improvement in the quality of the images I am now able to post (artistic quality is another matter entirely).
