The F10 does not have any in-camera sharpness control, so this is the only sharpness setting.
I think the lack of sharpness is due at least in part to the fact that I was trying to take a picture of myself. So you can imagine how hard it is to focus on a subject that isn't in front of the camera yet :) I had to focus on the back of the chair on which I'm sitting, and I tried to position myself in that exact spot, but I'm probably off by a centimetre, or several. Give a poor girl a break, okay? I tried my best :(
Also, take note of the shutter speed. 1/4 of a second is okay for an inanimate object, but for a living, breathing creature such as myself, it's not easy remaining perfectly still for that long. The slightest amount of movement can cause the subject to look less than sharp. I suppose I could have done this test with my stuffed animals...

Is this the sharpest setting? I find the sharpness (fuzzy) below what I expect from digital cameras. As I said in my other comment, it seems like the lack of sharpness affects the depth-of-field which is the significant advanctage of digital cameras over film cameras. Thanks for your reply-Ed.
