The Old Mission Dam, located in the Mission Trails Regional Park near San Diego, California was
built as a source of water for the San Diego Mission de Alcala and was completed in 1815. It was
constructed of stone and cement on exposed bedrock and is 244 feet long, 13 feet wide and 13 feet
thick. Numerous trails cross through the park, comprised of Fortuna and Cowles Mountains,
Mission Gorge and Lake Murray.
