The 15th century statue in wood of the Kneeling Madonna is by Giovanni Della Robbia and is complemented by a figure of the Christ Child. In 2002, the Cathedral Chapter commissioned the Rossendale artist, Don McKinlay, to create a Christ-child to be set alongside the Madonna.
