I took this photo yesterday because I think it is the first time I have seen the Lady Chapel without chairs.
(Yes, I know, there are some chairs under some of the arches but you have to ignore those!)
The architect, Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, was only 22 years old when he designed the Lady Chapel which was completed in 1910.
If you look on the left hand side just above the arches you will see letters carved into the stone. The is a quote from John 3:16:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
