This is a wonderfully evocative image for me---the essence of Christmas preparations, and the pride of a father in his children. Grace came with me this evening to photograph our recently decorated church. After I was done with the architectural shots, she wanted to be in one of the photos. I suggested that she put on her altar server robe, and we staged this "candle lighting". This was a technically challenging photograph for me, being reasonably new to the camera (and working it in the dark), and Grace had to hold still for the longer exposure. This image speaks to the peace of the Christmas season, as well as the (usually) patient expectation of Christmas day.

It works very well both in color and B&W. I hope you all enjoy it.
