The last day of Christmas

Mosfellsbaer

Here is one of the pictures I took while our rescue squad had a fireworks display while we were saying goodby to Christmas. In Iceland we have all of 13 Santa Clauses and they arraive one each day from the 11th of December until the last one arrives on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day the first of them departs and then one each day until the last one on the 6th of January. Also during Chistmas the Alfs are among men and they leave for their home on the last day of Christmas. So then we are also saying goodby to them until next Christmas.
And just like on New Years Eve we also have a big bonfire on the last day of Christmas and here in Mosfellsbær our rescue squad always has their fireworks display. It´s the rescue squads that sell most of the fireworks during New Years Eve and on the last day of Christmas and they do it to fund their operations during the year as all our rescue squads are volantary. Nobody gets paid for belonging to one and they do all their work in their own time or are allowed to take time off from work when the need arises.
