The Institute of France, created on 25 October 1795, is now under the responsibility of Chancellor Gabriel de Broglie, who was elected to the Academy of Ethics and Political Science in 1997, to the French Academy in 2001, and who became Chancellor of the Institute of France on 29 November 2005.
The Institute of France, Parliament of the Learned, is tasked to :
Improve the arts and sciences in line with the principle of pluridisciplinarity.
Manage the thousands of donations, legacies, and foundations that it has been entrusted with, so that it has the means to carry out its primary task.
