A big part of the central Icland which lies very hight is blowing up. In the area near Landmannalaugar the surroundings are mostly made of black volcanic sand, and there vegitation has very little chance of surviving.
Only some very rugged and small plants have a chance of living there, and therefor they don´t holt very well on to the soil, so every time we have a dry season and the wind blows you can see the land blowing away.
