"About 200 people rallied in front of the Planned Parenthood offices in Dallas demanding that Governor Rick Perry restore four-million dollars in funding to the agency."

Please be aware, this is not about abortion. This is about healthcare for women... contraception and healthcare screenings.
Women's lives may be in jeopardy without these services.

These are turbulent times and women need to speak out for their rights. "Don't Mess With Texas Women!"

What do we want? "HEALTHCARE!" When do we want it? "NOW!"

This message was forwarded to me by a friend in England and I thought it only appropriate to share it with you with her permission: "Until seeing and reading what has been posted here never did I ever imagine that in this day and age such vital services as these are being withdrawn from the very women who are in most need of them. As an English person who has at times moaned about our National Health Service in the UK, especially during my child rearing years, I will be honest that what I am reading and seeing here shocks me to the core. It has taken some doing to get my head round that from such a forward thinking country as the USA a decision has been made to deprive vital preventative medical coverage and health care from where it is needed most. If I didn't live thousands of miles away I would be waving a placard too!! Way to go! It is so sad that after all this time, we are going backwards, not forwards, with regards to health care issues, for women and really, for all.

I worked 3 part time jobs to put myself through college. If it wasn't for the Well Woman checkups that I received at Planned Parenthood, I would not have had any sort of preventive medical coverage. Shame on Rick Perry and the State government. Those funds had NOTHING to do with abortion. He is such an ass.
