CRAZY!
"For many women, Medicaid WHP is their only source of health care.
The average woman that relies on this program is working, uninsured and makes less than $3,000 a month for her family of three.
Without this essential program, 130,000 Texas women in need will lose access to basic, lifesaving care including breast and cervical cancer screenings,
screenings for diabetes and hypertension, and STD testing and birth control.
Texas women and taxpayers need this program. Medicaid WHP saves lives, prevents unintended pregnancies and saves taxpayer dollars.
For every $1 invested in family planning programs, Texas taxpayers save $4 in Medicaid costs related to unintended pregnancies.
If Medicaid WHP ends, Medicaid costs will explode and Texas taxpayers will be left footing the bill.
Stop playing politics with women's health-- this is not about politics.
The Medicaid Women's Health Program is about saving lives, helping families space and plan their children, and saving taxpayer dollars."
