"She took a photo of a newspaper article?"

Well, yes I did, and here is why...
The corona virus has traveled worldwide and taken so many lives and disrupted so many lives, in so many ways.
For anyone who has been able to get out there and document life in the era of the corona virus, you will have photos of significant historical importance.
I, for one, would like to have done that, but due to health reasons, I have been unable to do so.

When this story appeared in the Dallas Morning News today, July 26,2020, I knew I had to take a photo of this photo.
Dr. Iliya is pictured front and center in his blue scrubs and white coat. He has worked at Texas Health Dallas for more than 30 years as a vascular and trauma surgeon.
When he was admitted to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas with the diagnosis of the corona virus back in March of 2020, it took 23 days and a team of nearly 100 employees to save his life.
He was on the ventilator and came close to dying, but with the team effort, his life was saved.

The story was written in the Dallas Morning News by Jesus Jimenez and a huge amount of work went into this project.
There are 54 health care workers pictured here who all had a part in saving Dr. Iliya's life.
Each one was photographed by Ryan Michalesko and then interviewed on video by Tommy Noel and Jesus Jimienez from the DMN while maintaining safe distancing and disinfecting of surfaces in the conference rooms.
Michalesko edited the photos and interactives editor, John Hancock produced the composite image of everyone together.
For those of you who do composite images, you know what a lot of work this was to do.

After 45 years working as a critical care nurse (now retired), I understand the hard work that all of these health care workers are doing on a daily basis to save lives and protect their own lives and others.
And the emotional toll is huge!

Dr. Iliya has not only recovered, but has returned to the hospital once again to care for patients as the corona virus rages on.

YOU ARE ALL OUR HEROES!
