Sadly, access to this area has been curtailed and fenced. This wonderful wide open area at the lake is to be developed with hotel, apartments and retail and made into a faux resort with a faux blue lagoon. More concrete to be poured! It's all about $$$$$$!

I, for one am tired of development! It seems that nothing in the Dallas area can be left green and open for people to enjoy doing the simple inexpensive things in life like picnicking, walking, running, walking the dogs, boating, fishing.

A special thank you to the kiteboarders who showed up at the Rowlett City Hall meetings to beg to have an area left available for those who enjoy water sports. You guys and gal ROCK! Only time will tell how that will play out.

So very glad that I was able to capture the photos of the kiteboarders before big business took over!
