I was shooting in the opposite direction and when I turned around, I saw these women picking something near where the highway runs. Suddenly I felt like I was in another country, so I went over to ask what they had found.

The women had bags filled with green leaves, and I certainly hoped they knew exactly what they were picking. They were quite excited as they had no idea that this grew wild here.
I forget the name of it but they said it is cooked similar to spinach with maybe some onions added. I do wish I could remember the name of it.
They have a relative who lives in California and they have picked it there and also down around San Antonio.
