1890-1918
"My company and I sailed for France in the summer of 1918 and it didn't take long for us to understand what people mean by 'the horrors of war'.
This big war, or World War 1 as you would know it, took the lives of 117,000 American soldiers far away from home and it took me, Bill Casey.
I was mortally wounded on Oct. 28, 1918, the only Mesquaite casualty to die in battle.
I was 28 years old."
(Louis William Casey was portrayed by Cameron Baird, a history major at the University of North Texas and HMI volunteer.)
