Canon 17-40 f/4 L images

My suggestions when using this lens: Shoot between f/11 and f/16 using Av. Use centre point focusing, not nine point especially if its a "busy" shot. Focus two thirds of the way down picking a contrasty spot that will assist AF but don't focus on the "hyperdistance"! For landscapes, ensure you have something of interest in the foreground.

This is the only lens I own right now. I am slowly getting used to it. Really great for street photography. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks for keeping this particular gallery going, Sheila! I bought this lens awhile back and apprecitae all the technical info you include here. Just returned from Hawaii and while most of my shots are less than what I'd hoped for it was a good learning experience. And for me that's what it's all about!
