High Line Park, NYC 2011

The High Line was an elevated train line constructed on Manhattan's West Side in the 1930s. Instead of running above the street, it ran through buildings and the neighborhoods of the Meat Packing District, West Chelsea, and Clinton/Hell's Kitchen between 10th and 11th Avenues. It has recently been converted to a park and the first section extended from Gansevoort Street in the Meat Packing District to 20th Street in Chelsea. The second section which extends the park another 10 blocks to 30th Street has just been completed and opened to the public on June 8, 2011. High Line Park offers unusual views of these interesting and off-the-beaten-path neighborhoods. View images in Original size for best quality..
