My camera is an integral and inseparable part of me. Everything inspires me: the smallest ladybug to vast landscapes, the face of the moon to my husbands face, the simplest forms and colors to the most complex systems. I take pictures to show and share my wonder and passion for the world we live in. My many interests shape this vision. My background in graphic design teaches me to simplify my images so that they speak strongly and directly to the viewer. My career as a bookseller inspires me to think sequentially in photography, using multiple images to tell a deeper and richer story. My sense of humor sometimes reveals itself in unusual twists or views of common subjects, giving the viewer my own lighthearted view of things. My photography often begs the question: is this image shot from life or set up and manipulated? Primarily, I want to show people something they havent seen before - even if it is, ironically, something they see every day. Photography and the processing possibilities are endlessly fascinating to me and I regret not having more time to implement all of my ideas. As I continue to learn, hone my skills and refine my vision I am tantalized by what I may be able to accomplish in the future.
