Erratic Images/Playful Panoramas
New technology is always a challenge, even with something as simple to use as a smartphone and its camera. With these images I have explored the creative possibilities of the iPhone’s built-in panorama function. I have tested the limits of the feature and learned how to exploit those limits in creative ways. I have made images that are true to life and yet fanciful and a little mind-bending, they tend to unfold in quirky ways.
Eleven of these thirty images have been Inkjet printed on archival Hahnemühle Canvas Metallic. They were printed large, 5 feet long or tall and about a foot and a half wide, and stretched over high quality stretchers and hung without frames. The ones that have been printed are noted in the description below each image. To really appreciate these you need to see them printed big, the computer screen just doesn't do them justice.
Click on an image to make it larger. Then click on "previous|next" in the upper right corner to browse through the images one by one. Be sure that "large" is clicked below the first image you look at, they should stay on the larger size after that.
Please leave a comment or question on any image, I love hearing from you.
