So many things attract me in this picture. A visual detail of colours as the red elements nearly in a row, the little girl’s shoes and the bike rears light.
The soft symmetry of the two bent heads and the curly hair, the real and the artificial ones.
Unlike Ana, I didn’t notice the doll, bit the child first and I thought the title was related only to her.
But the whole scene has not any distressing or worrying features for me; I think it transmits me feelings of confident relax. Nothing is more private and intimate than sleep and the fact children can sleep publicly, getting into their own private world of dream and tiredness, without the same reserve adults have, show me the force of their innocence, before being conditioned by our adult fears.
I love the sharpness and the candy like colours too in this picture, so suitable for the subject.
