By shooting this person with his feet up on the seat, you express the wetness of the day very well. By shooting him from behind, you abstract him as well. However the image would have worked more effectively if you had been able to take a higher vantage point, and used a wider focal length, thereby emphasizing the scale of the water and cropping out the buildings and cars in the background. In other words, just a guy scrunched up on his bicycle seat, shot from behind, and staring at a huge expanse of water -- and nothing else -- stretching before as an obstacle. As it stands here, he merges into those buildings. If his body was completely surrounded by water, it would have been much more of a story-telling picture.
