Bubblegum curiousity.Stretching the unforseen possibilities.Peering around the edges of dubious credibility.Reflecting with uncommon fascination. While playful convolutions of nonsense charm our notions as clowns.Rousing our child to laughter once more.
Thanks Phil for your usual rewarding and detailed feedback. Robbie, I am glad your are back and visiting, and am glad you like it!! Funny how the ordinary can become the extraordinary if we open our mind, and look at things from a different perspective. There is no post processing in this image except a slight crop, levels and curves. What you see and feel as the viewer is what I saw and fealt as the image taker. By releasing the shutter when I did, I have allowed you to share the moment with me. That is becoming the joy of photography for me.
An Alice in Wonderland image, Kal! The fantasy, as you say, is not only in what he sees, but what we see. This is one of the most surreally profound images you have ever made. The incongruity of the kid using his imagination to explore every nook and cranny of his existence while his own head explodes in wonder and a person he does not even see is simultaneously vaporizing into fantasy, is mind blowing (pun intended). The distortions abstract the image, helping to define the human value here: the imaginative. This image is all about the human imagination at work. And the more we look at it, the more our own imaginations will work as well.
