The Joy of Knowing

Something is happening through that hole in the wall, and we are not a part of it. Only the little boy knows it all. He sees us and he knows what is behind the wall. There are few people in the world who get the chance to experience the joy of seeing the whole picture.

Glad you and Jen were discussing Erwitt here - a great street photographer with an eye for incongruity and human values. You say it all in your caption, Kal. And Jen's gender comment is valid as well.

Excellent work.

Thanks Jen for the link. That went straight in to the favourites folder! I had come accross Elliot Erwitt before, when Phil menmtioned him when referring to humour in one of your images. I thought after your comment below that the image Animal Instinct might fit in there too...it was a real contrast between the sexes in that image too. Thanks Jen for the insight...

I find another interesting thing about the picture: girls seem like to gather a group and tend to be more interested in the things behind the hole, while the boy is standing alone and more interested in you (or your camera). I really like this picture, it can be well fitted into Elliott Erwitt's book---Between the Sexes
