this is like a photo of my mind! wow. i can't believe i've never seen this before. i've just spent quite some time looking through your galleries again, and it's amazing how diverse you are, yet all the time retaining a unique quality and style that definitely says "Kal"! you really do document the human condition in all it's forms. there is work in your galleries to represent every emotion. i've missed it so much, i'll definitely be playing catch up! :)

A refracted surmised existence rippling through a viscous conscience.Disturbed by the contortion of social undercurrents.Stretching and twisting Dali-esque opinions beyond any sane rationalization.Until nothing can be fathomed as secure. In a state of undiscernable flux.Where judgement is as malleable as child's clay.
A fascinating image, Kal. To me it expresses the concept of man losing his way in our present technological society. The figures are abstracted down to blurs, and do not seem to be control of the technology that surrounds them. They are captives, maybe even willing captives, in a cultural prison. Those diagonal lines slice them up, and the frosted plastic and steel frames consume them. It is a chilling image -- rich in abstraction, incongruity, and human values. A real departure for you as well. It kind of reminds me of Jen's image athttp://www.pbase.com/angeleyes_zyl/image/22727227
She made it long before I ever knew her. She had no idea what she was doing -- everything then was purely intuitive. Now she knows exactly what she is doing and why. What she did here was to imply that we are being devoured by a culture based on appearance rather than value, and she did it purely through abstraction and scale incongruity. You have given us people being devoured by a culture based on technology for technology's sake, and you do it through abstraction and blur and the incongruity between the subjects and the context.
