Thanks Jen, probably a difference in meaning of "tough". Tough can either mean physically strong, or drives a hard bargain, in my case I meant drives a hard bargain. I will at some stage provide a context for all these new images. I am so focused at the moment on generating expressive images, I have almost forgotten what others may need to understand them more! Thanks Jen, I am delighted that you had a chance to comment.

Kal, I notice the scale, but it is hard to draw connection between the man and the scale. I think this is the kind of picture that photographer should provide certain context to help viewers understand the picture. And his expression doesn't show he is a tough guy. I think if that is what you wanna express, you can take a picture of him at work showing how tough he is with locals.

I never saw the scale, Kal. Soft focus subjects are often too abstract to decipher as this one is.

I see what you mean about the hand. There was plenty of room to move to the left and keep the meaninig of the image. Is the balance (scale) in front of him obvious? It is meant to be key to the image, hence the title ...This man weighs all the material collected by the migrants (and locals) at the end of the day and pays them for it.I imagine he is a tough man...

Harsh light, calculating man, expressive image. But watch the edges, Kal. The hand at lower left should have been included to counterbalance the other.
