The Desert City of Tozeur

Tozeur is an Oases town, about 270 miles southwest of Tunis, very close to the border with Algeria. It now owes its fame and affluence to the stately palm and its world renowned dates - deglet nour "fingers of light". Over 200,000 date palms grow in the oases.

Tozeur is also the jumping off point for trips to other oases towns, the Red Lizard train ride, and the movie sets of The English Patient and Star Wars.
