Tarangire NP is one of the lesser visited parks on the 'northern safari circuit'. The park is supposed to have large herds of elephants, but somehow they managed to stay hidden from us for two game drives within the park. We did however manage to see a large herd of Cape Buffalo running left to right across our road, while at the same time a similarly large herd of Eland (the largest of the antelope family) ran across in the other direction. Both of these animals can weigh upwards of 1,500 lbs.
