66th Infantry Division:
The Black Panther Division.
The 66th Division was activated as a component of the Army of
the United States on April 15th, 1943, with Headquarters at
Camp Blanding Florida. Following two changes of station, the
Division embarked for the European Theater in November of 1944.
The shoulder patch worn by the 66th Division was approved
on August 26th, 1943, and the snarling panther suggests
ferocity of the Division towards its enemies.
