New Mexico Herps, Summer of 2005

In July of 2005, I assisted a fellow graduate student in collecting whiptail lizards (Aspidoscelis sp.) in eastern New Mexico for his doctoral research. While collecting, we also came across numerous other herp species. Later on, we headed south to the Carlsbad area to look for Chihuahuan Desert species such as rock rattlesnakes, texas banded geckos, and grey-banded kingsnakes.
