This patch of ground is just around the corner from me and yet today is the first time I've set eyes on it in over 26 years!

The sturdy metal gates leading to it have always been padlocked tightly shut but today there were open as the area is being cleared…

There were many brickworks in this area and Salterwood was located near the world famous Denby Pottery and eventually became part of Butterley Brick.
