The Isle of Whithorn photographed on 27 October 2019. The walled area on the left, jutting out into the harbour is called the Captain's Garden, now with several houses on it, but originally a garden associated with the castle. The black squares painted on the wall aren't (as I originally thought) some kind of navigation marking but are in fact simulated man o' war gun ports!
